Spaghetti Feed with Auction
Our post is trying to raise funds to continue our renovations project. On July 8th we will be having a Spaghetti Feed and Auction. We will auction off objects donated to us by local business and members.
$2.50 each and $4.00 a couple.

Independence Parade
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! LET FREEDOM RING!
There will be a parade celebrating our country’s independence from Britain in Independence OR.

Marine Corps League Pancake Fundraiser
The Marine Corps League is having a Pancake Fundraiser down at Applebee’s Restaurant on South Commercial Avenue on July 3rd. The event will be from 8-10am and the tickets are $5 each.
Poppy Fundraiser
We are having another Poppy Fundraiser!
We would like some volunteers to join Roland LaCompte and Michelle Crocheron and get more funds for our Scholarship Programs and the Relief Fund.
OEF/OIF Homecoming Baseball Game!
Sponsored by the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, there will be a Portland Beavers and Rainiers Baseball Game at PGE Park up in Portland to Welcome Home our Soldiers. Please contact the Portland VA OEF/OIF Office for RSVP.
Tickets are free to OEF/OIF Soldiers.
The post will have an information table at the game. I have one spot left on my table. Please contact me if you would like to come. First Come First Served!
Post Fundraiser
On June 18th we will hold a “BOOT” Fundraiser to raise general funds to help the post complete it’s renovations.
We will be out on Lancaster Drive and HWY 22 overpass by Home Depot collecting donations from the public. We are in need of able bodied people that can stand and collect money for about 30 minutes at a time.
Those that volunteer please bring protective clothing and sunscreen. To volunteer please contact our Public Relations Officer Michelle Crocheron at (503) 362-5944 or you can meet with her during our business hours on Mondays from 9-2PM.
Flag Disposal/Retirement Ceremony
On June 14th, FLAG DAY, we will hold a Retirement Ceremony starting at our Post’s Memorial at 10am and finishing out at Larden Road Farm. If you have a tattered, worn, faded, tore up Flag that you need to retire, please come down and we will show you the proper way to say goodbye.
FREE FISHING DAY!
There will be a Free Fishing Day out at the Silverton Reservoir from 1-4PM. Our post will have an information table there and we will also be fishing. Come down and catch some fish!
Poppy Fundraiser
We will be holding a Poppy Fundraiser to replenish our Scholarship and Relief Fund. Please come down and show your support.
Fred Meyer’s
Memorial Day Ceremony Run Through
On Saturday May 29, 2o1o we are requesting all participants of the Memorial Day Ceremony to come down to the Cemetary at 10am to do a basic run through.
The event will last for a couple of hours just to make sure all the kinks have been worked out.
There will be a DINNER AND MOVIE following the run through at VFW Post 661 located at 630 Hood Street NE, Salem OR at 6pm.
Schedules
Post Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm
Post Members meet every Monday at 8:30AM for coffee and/or breakfast in the downstairs hall. Cost is DONATION only.
Ladies Auxiliary meetings are the 2nd Monday of each month at 7PM in the Main Hall.
COOTIES meeting will be the 1st Sunday of every month located in the downstairs hall. Potluck at 1PM, meeting at 2PM.
The Post Canteen will be open each Monday from 8:30AM-2:00PM for Cards, Commardarie and FUN!
