2011 Memorial Day Celebration
This years Memorial Day Celebration will be focuses on the start of the Civil War.
150 years ago the Civil War began. This war dictated how this country was to be governed and to live.
Event will be at city View Cemetery at 11am, 8am for set up completion.
Followed by a potluck at the VFW Hall located at 630 Hood Street NE, On the corner of Church, Hood and the bend at Fairgrounds Road.
Memorial Day Set UP
We will meet out at City View Cemetery, 390 Hoyt Street at 10am to start the preliminary setup for this year’s Memorial Day Celebration. All hands, legs and whatever are welcome. The more people we have the more we can save someone from injury. Thank you.
Scuttlebutt Articles & Updates Due
There has been some hiccups lately with the getting articles, and address updates completed by the deadline. So to help our leaders complete things on time all updates and articles will be due by May 2nd, 2011. There needs to be final draft completed by the meeting date.
All submissions can be emailed to vfw661@yahoo.com, by mail or you can drop it off.
With this in mind, we are always looking for people to help out, whether that be writing a story, printing and label help, etc. Please help us figure out what you would like to read from us. Thank you.
Crock Pot Cook Off
We are gonna get you and help us enjoy Spring! We want volunteers and cooks of all ages to prepare their favorite Crock Pot meal and bring it down to the post for all to judge! The post will open at 3pm for those that need to set up, those that need it earlier please contact Michelle to let you in.
Come hungry because we will!
Memorial Day Planning Meeting
We are coming up on our Memorial Day Celebration. There have been lots of things that have gotten taken care of already and still more to plan and get done. Please come and help us plan so that this year can be better than last year.
Post’s 2nd Nominations & Elections
It is again that time of year where we elect new leaders for our post. Please attend this month’s meeting to put your vote to good use. If you don’t like the way things are going or there are things that you want to change,this is the time to do it!

Poppy Fundraiser
We will be holding a Poppy Fundraiser at Fred Meyer’s on Broadway from 9am-2pm. Please bring a comfy chair and be ready to help raise funds for our Relief Fund.

Lasagna Luncheon
Please come and support the post in it’s efforts to raise funds to make necessary repairs to the kitchen.
We are hosting a luncheon, so that people that don’t drive at night can attend.
The donation cost is $6.00

Schedules
Post Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm
Post Members meet every Monday at 8:30AM for coffee and/or breakfast in the downstairs hall. Cost is DONATION only.
Ladies Auxiliary meetings are the 2nd Monday of each month at 7PM in the Main Hall.
COOTIES meeting will be the 1st Sunday of every month located in the downstairs hall. Potluck at 1PM, meeting at 2PM.
The Post Canteen will be open each Monday from 8:30AM-2:00PM for Cards, Commardarie and FUN!
