U.S. Naval Sea Cadets
“TEST YOUR LIMITS”
The Naval Sea Cadets Corps (NSCC) is a program for young men and women ages 13-17 who are interested in developing their skills in leadership, basic seamanship, courage, self-reliance, military discipline and are committed to being drug and gang free.
The Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC) is the junior program for the NSCC. The NLCC introduces boys and girls ages 11-14 to naval life through instruction in basic seamanship and leadership.
All prospective cadets must be U.S. Citizens, be drug free, unmarried, a full time student with at least a “C” grade point average, have parental consent, and possess good moral character. In addition you must be interested in the program and committed to attending drills (meetings) regularly.

The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a nationwide organization dedicated to helping American youth realize personal success and achievement through a nautically oriented training program. Through Sea Cadet leadership, young Americans ages 13-17 develop interests and skills in basic seamanship and it’s naval adaptations, while learning the value of patriotism, courage, self reliance, team work and accountability.
Founded in 1958, there are now approximately 798 Sea Cadet units operating in nearly every state as well as Puerto Rico and Guam, with some at 9500 members.
Salem’s NSCC unit has been providing Salem youth exposure to the sea service experience.
ADVANCEMENT
Promotions within the Sea Cadets are based upon merit. Cadet recruits enter as E-1′s, and upon successful completion of boot camp and other academic requirements may be advanced to the apprentice ranks of E-2. As cadets receive additional training they may advance through the rank structure, eventually attaining the rank of Cheif Petty Officer (E-7).

EXCHANGE PROGRAM
NSCC has exhange programs with Bermuda, Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, the Netherlands, South Africa and Sweden. Each summer selected cadets have the opportunity to meet and to train with their foreign counter-Cadets to train aboard U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships and shore activities, and are authorized by the Secretary of the Navy to wear the uniforms marked with Naval Sea Cadet Insignias.



Post Members meet every Monday at 8:30AM for coffee and/or breakfast in the downstairs hall. Cost is DONATION only.
Ladies Auxiliary meetings are the 2nd Monday of each month at 7PM in the Main Hall.
COOTIES meeting will be the 1st Sunday of every month located in the downstairs hall. Potluck at 1PM, meeting at 2PM.
